    Water Restrictions Lifted

    The city has lifted the voluntary water restrictions it implemented July 31, city officials said Monday.

    The restrictions also applied to residents of Jenks, Owasso and Bixby, which receive water from the city of Tulsa.

    Mayor Dewey Bartlett signed an executive order Monday ending the voluntary water restrictions.

    “We received great response from our water customers once voluntary restrictions were enacted two weeks ago,” Bartlett said in a news release. “Our plants have been running near 94 percent capacity, but with cooler temperatures and customers taking part in conserving, we have been able to bring our water usage level down dramatically.”

    The restrictions were implemented after the city used 198.09 million gallons of water on July 29 and 207.3 million gallons July 30.

    The July 30 usage figure is the highest of the year.
