    Bixby Fire Department Goes Pink

Story by Jo-Ann Jennings found on BixbyBulletin.com

Bixby Chief of Police Ike Shirley said that police officers need to be in uniform and therefore will not be wearing pink T-shirts while on duty, but they are wearing pink bracelets to support efforts to raise money for cancer research during October, Cancer Awareness Month.

Anyone passing the dispatch office in City Hall will also see that the police department is proudly displaying their support with a huge pink ribbon and a string of pink lights.

Ryan King of the Bixby Fire Department showed the Bixby Bulletin the pink T-shirts the firemen/woman will be not only wearing but selling for $10 each, beginning October 17. It has not been decided yet to which cancer foundation the proceeds will be donated.
