LOCAL CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS
The life-blood of any community is the devoted volunteer community organizations. Bixby’s volunteer organizations are multi-faceted and serve a diverse group of interests and businesses for the common enjoyment and betterment of the entire community. The community spirited nature of our involved citizens has been a hall-mark of Bixby from it’s early inception.
Bixby Educational Endowment Foundation
This foundation is a locally controlled non-profit organization that allows patrons and organizations to donate tax deductible contributions for the benefit of the Bixby School System and its students.
Bixby Historical Society
The Bixby Historical Society is a non-profit organization with a mission to preserve the past and present for the future and invites all Bixby citizens to join them in their quest. This group of volunteers meets monthly to learn more about local history, helps to man the local museum and other projects that promote the community’s history.
Bixby Optimist Club
Meeting the needs of young people in communities worldwide, Optimist Clubs have been “Bringing Out the Best in Kids” since 1919. Optimist Clubs conduct positive service projects aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. Club partners are best known in their communities for their upbeat attitudes and by believing in young people and empowering them to be the best they can. Quota International
Quota International, founded in 1919, is an international service organization that links partners of all ages, occupations, and nationalities in a worldwide network of service and friendship. With a motto of “we share,” Quotarians are known especially for their service to deaf, hard-of-hearing, and speech-impaired individuals and disadvantaged women and children. Quota members share the values of serving and encouraging others, developing friendships, and promoting international understanding.
Rotary Club of Bixby
Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Bixby Community Outreach Center
Bixby Outreach Center’s mission statement is. “To provide basic needs assistance with compassion and dignity to local families in need through a cooperative community effort.”
In a world that is constantly changing, it is comforting to know that there is a hand always willing and able to reach out to help others. In times of crisis, moments of need, when people have nowhere else to turn, they are there. Helping hands bring a balance to lives, warmth to families and a smile to children’s faces.
